Withee Speech therapy is committed to utilizing evidence-based practice (EBP) - integrating evidence from research, data from observation and thorough assessment of the child, the clinical expertise of a highly trained SLP, and understanding of client/caregiver/parent needs - to treat children with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), articulation and phonological disorders.

Personalized
No two children with CAS, articulation errors or a phonological disorder are alike! Thorough evaluations and observations are completed so that therapy goals and targets are tailored meet the needs of each individual child. Ongoing probes and assessments are completed to evaluate progress and ensure that chosen methods are working or determine a need for change when needed in order to ensure maximum progress.

Family Friendly
Therapy is provided in a dedicated, child-friendly home office where parents/caregivers are encouraged to sit in on sessions to learn and participate. Parent/caregiver partnership is highly valued! Transition time between sessions is built into the schedule to allow time for additional discussion/ education and relaxed transitions. Delivery method (in-person/teletherapy) is flexible (when appropriate) so that sessions need not be cancelled due to a sick sibling or inclement weather.

Children who participate in teletherapy receive therapy rooted in evidence based practice just like those seen in-person! Evidence continues to show that speech teletherapy, when appropriate, is as effective as in-person therapy for the remediation of speech-language disorders.
Personalized
Children who participate in teletherapy receive the the same personalized experience as those participating in in-person sessions. Withee Speech Therapy designs engaging online therapy sessions, individualized for each child, employing, web-based play, books, games, toys or items from the child's own home.
Family Friendly
Just as with in-person therapy, parents/caregivers are invited to observe/participate in all sessions. Parent/caregiver partnership is highly valued! Telepractice is an efficient, family friendly approach to speech therapy that allows for the focussed engagement of children and caregivers while minimizing the disruption of family activities.
